Artist Statement Herr Wild

Herr Wild only uses sounds which he creates himself!

To make digitally produced music more organic, I decided not to use synthetic sounds.

Being inspired by the work of the pioneers of electro-acoustic music (from Pierre Schaeffer to Kraftwerk), the studio sound creations at Abbey Road (by the late Beatles with Geoff Emerick) and the strictness of Matthew Herbert (postulating his P.C.C.O.M.), I transformed the laptop into my instrument for sample-based music.

All kinds of sound and music is based on authentic noises - representing behaviour, meaning and abstraction of a given subject.

Educational Statement Sascha Wild

Since I began teaching music in 2002, I have made use of digital media, especially to give my students a practical experience in ways of playing together.

By using the possibilities of audio-visual media as hearing and playing guides and as a tool for creative music creation, I began to define four elements for teaching:

1.: using the structure and dynamic of music

2.: using media to make these structures transparent

3.: make learning interactive and related to practicle use as far as possible

4.: supporting the creativity and personality of the student.
